Open Roads

It’s great to have a clear mind and an open soul like the open roads of Ternate, Cavite where the routes are leading you to some places you have never been before. I’ve got tons of road photographs from each road trips I am making, maybe due to the fact, that I am quite fascinated to see the direction fades into the horizon or the interplay of zebra lines and the dotted lines prominently imprinted on the concrete surface. It gives a sense of movement. It gives the feeling of purpose and freedom that man should never stop discovering a world beyond his familiar sphere.

Catching up with the sun, wheeling slow towards home. Approaching Manila on this sunset hour, brings the old-time glory of the West Philippine Sea. I can’t recall how many splendid seaviews I witnessed by the bay since. The sunset in Manila Bay is one of the world’s finest according to the best photographers. No matter how tiring it was, no matter how far we’ve got, there are familiar things which are worth to come home for. The roadtripper will always rest his travelling feet and feels relaxed at his own backyard.

There were places which are fleeting and you’ll pass by once in your lifetime but remains in your memory as a beautiful thing. Oftentimes, the simple things are the ones that matter and the ones who occupy the spaces of your heart. We travel to capture the character of the place but fail to contain the emotion it brings that make you connect and understand life. In this particular photograph, I just let myself loose and try to find inspiration from the simple things that might not be worthy for a coffee table book. Nevertheless, I’ll share it as a beautiful keepsake.

Tower of Power

Roadtripping and the locomotion of the wheel is churning a different kind of beat in me. While on the move, I can’t keep my fingers stationed on my DSLR without taking snap after snap of what I see on the road. And this particular shot, the tower of power had that gut feel and its imposing structure dominates my senses of awe and splendor. Subic-Clark- Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) had so many interesting sights to behold for that postcard perfect moments. If it’s only allowed to stop without thinking the toll patrol would escort you away and begin to interrogate why you stop. I just want to take a selfie snap 🙂
